Lemosho Route
Lemosho's scenery and solitude in a seven-day format that merges the two Shira Plateau stages.
This version of Lemosho keeps the remote western start and the Lava Tower acclimatisation day but crosses the Shira Plateau in one stage. A strong compromise between success rate, cost and time on the mountain.
Drive to Londorossi Gate on the remote western side, then a quiet forest walk.
Climb onto the Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaux in the world.
The key acclimatisation day: up to 4,600m at Lava Tower, down to the Barranco Valley.
Scramble the Barranco Wall and traverse to Karanga with the glaciers overhead.
Short stage across alpine desert; early dinner and rest before the summit push.
Midnight departure, sunrise on the Roof of Africa, then a long descent to camp.
Rainforest descent, tipping ceremony, summit certificates and transfer to your hotel.
