Compare real mid-range and luxury Tanzania safari prices: seven days in the Central Serengeti, eight days for the migration, and fourteen days with Zanzibar. See the group size, total cost and what is included before requesting your quote.
For two travellers, our published seven-day private safari rates are US$2,673 per person for mid-range and US$3,801 per person for luxury. That is US$5,346 or US$7,602 for the pair, before excluded costs such as international flights, visas and travel insurance.
These are Get Together Adventures package prices checked on 16 October 2026, not an average for every operator in Tanzania. All figures below are in US dollars. The rates are per person sharing and depend on group size; travel dates, peak-season availability and single supplements can change your final quote. Daily figures are the package price divided by its full advertised duration, not a separate daily rate.
Compare the same duration and the same group size before comparing mid-range with luxury. The six examples below are existing published private safaris, not new itineraries created for this guide.
- Seven days, two travellers: mid-range US$2,673 per person, approximately US$381.86 per person per day; luxury US$3,801 per person, US$543.00 per person per day.
- Eight days, two travellers: mid-range US$2,906 per person, US$363.25 per person per day; luxury US$4,443 per person, approximately US$555.38 per person per day.
- Fourteen days with Zanzibar, four travellers: mid-range US$5,411.31 per person, approximately US$386.52 per person per day; luxury US$8,589.57 per person, approximately US$613.54 per person per day.
The fourteen-day examples are family-themed safari-and-beach holidays and publish a four-person rate only. Do not compare that rate directly with the two-person examples or treat every day as a wildlife game-drive day. Child rates are not separately published in these examples; request a family quote with each child's age.
The 7-Day Big Five Tanzania Safari — Mid-Range Style includes Tarangire, three nights in the Central Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. Its two-person rate is US$2,673 per person: US$5,346 for two, or approximately US$381.86 per person per day.
The 7-Day Luxury Iconic Tanzania Safari — 3 Serengeti Nights follows the iconic northern circuit with three nights in the Central Serengeti. Its two-person rate is US$3,801 per person: US$7,602 for two, or US$543.00 per person per day.
For two people, the published luxury package costs US$1,128 more per person, or US$2,256 more for the pair. These are two separate itineraries, not a guaranteed room upgrade on an otherwise identical booking. Open each tour to compare the named accommodation and day-by-day programme.
The 8-Day Classic Mara River Great Migration — Mid-Range is built around the Northern Serengeti and Mara River area. For two travellers, the published price is US$2,906 each: US$5,812 total, or US$363.25 per person per day.
The 8-Day Luxury Serengeti Migration & Mara River Safari publishes US$4,443 per person for a party of two: US$8,886 total, or approximately US$555.38 per person per day.
The luxury example is US$1,537 more per person, or US$3,074 more for two. Ask for a date-specific itinerary and accommodation confirmation before booking. Wildlife movements and river crossings are not guaranteed, and the published headline price is not a promise of availability on your preferred dates.
The 14-Day Mid-Range Family Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday combines Tarangire, the Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Zanzibar beach days. Its published four-person rate is US$5,411.31 per person: US$21,645.24 for four, or approximately US$386.52 per person per day across the whole holiday.
The 14-Day Luxury Family Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday publishes US$8,589.57 per person at four travellers: US$34,358.28 total, or approximately US$613.54 per person per day across fourteen days.
For a four-person group, the luxury example costs US$3,178.26 more per person, or US$12,713.04 more overall. These figures use the catalogue's per-person rates; they are not flat family prices. For two travellers or a different family composition, request a quote instead of dividing the four-person total.
The lowest published price can refer to a larger party sharing a private vehicle, rather than a couple. On the seven-day mid-range safari, the six-person rate is US$1,984 per person, while the two-person rate is US$2,673 and the one-person rate is US$4,005. The matching luxury example lists US$3,125 at six travellers, US$3,801 at two and US$5,191 at one.
That is why a headline from price should always be read alongside the group-rate table. Our safaris are private: a six-person rate assumes your own party of six, not that you will be placed with strangers. Open the Rates tab on the tour page and check the exact published tier for your party. Where your group size has no published rate, ask for an exact quote.
The six featured packages list the following inclusions. Always read the individual itinerary for the accommodation, meal plan and any specific arrangements.
- A professional English-speaking safari guide and a private 4x4 pop-up-roof safari vehicle.
- Park and conservation-area fees, accommodation as described in the itinerary, and government taxes and levies.
- Meals while on safari as stated, plus drinking water throughout the safari.
Their published exclusions include international and domestic flights unless stated, Tanzania visas, travel insurance, drinks, personal items, laundry, and optional activities not listed. Tips and gratuities are excluded; tipping is voluntary. Do not assume Zanzibar meals, transfers or domestic flights are included unless your chosen itinerary or written quote explicitly says so.
We have not added invented allowances for flights, visas or extras. Keep those separate from the package total and confirm them before paying.
Start with the route and number of nights, then compare the actual accommodation rather than the label alone. The seven-day examples both give time to the Central Serengeti; the eight-day examples focus on migration travel; the fourteen-day options add a beach stay. A longer holiday is not simply a shorter safari multiplied by more days.
Mid-range may suit you when the itinerary and listed accommodation meet your priorities and you would rather keep the package spend lower. Choose luxury when the particular lodges or camps and their arrangements justify the higher price for your trip. Neither category guarantees a particular wildlife sighting.
There is no published seasonal discount schedule attached to these examples, so this guide does not promise a cheaper month or a percentage saving. Ask us to compare available accommodation for your arrival and departure dates.
Choose the linked seven-, eight- or fourteen-day tour that fits your plans and request a quote from its page. Send your arrival and departure dates, number of adults, children's ages if relevant, preferred accommodation level, and whether you want Zanzibar.
Ask for the total for your whole party, the per-person price, named accommodation, confirmed inclusions and exclusions, and any date-specific supplements. Those details make it possible to compare offers fairly and decide whether mid-range or luxury is the better fit for your budget.
