Arusha National Park, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania, is a hidden gem that blends diverse landscapes and wildlife. Despite being one of the country’s smaller parks, it boasts breathtaking scenery, from lush montane rainforests and the sparkling Momella Lakes to volcanic craters like Ngurdoto Crater and the dramatic Meru summit. The park is home to giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and black-and-white colobus monkeys, as well as bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs, and over 400 bird species.
Unlike many northern parks, Arusha National Park offers peaceful game viewing without large predators, making it ideal for relaxed exploration. Visitors can enjoy guided walking safaris with armed rangers, canoeing close to waterbirds, and scenic drives through open grasslands. On clear days, hikers are rewarded with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating unforgettable photographic moments.
